hail caesar!

meeting preview for fri oct 13, 2017

Anyone involved in the racing industry will know that you savour every success because you just never know where and when your next winner will come from.

Even the best understand the fickle nature of the game and perhaps even more so jockeys, whose phones can go silent quickly when the winners dry up.

So Olivier Placais was a very relived hoop when SUPER WINNER gave him his first winner for a month last Sunday.

The popular French rider always picks up his fair share of rides but given the wealth of talent in the jockey ranks, the better chances may have started to go elsewhere.

And while he won't be legged up on any champions tonight, he looks well placed to knock in one or two winners to keep his momentum going.

CAI POH WANG is a maiden who should get the favours from gate 1 over a mile in race 4 and a race-to-race double is not out of the question when he jumps on last start winner, AMISTAD, in a Class 5 Poly sprint (race 5).

A couple of other rides on the night - perhaps CHASE (race 3) could see a result at odds - but it's safe to say the Frenchman would require a small miracle in the first on JOHN DUKE and be happy with a win later in the card.

Best Bets: (CAI POH WANG race 4, win), (AMISTAD race 5, win) and (JULIUS CAESAR race 7, value).

Bankers for Jackpots: Race 5 (1 and 4), race 6 (1, 3, 5, 8 and 9), race 7 (1, 2, 5, 6, 11 and 12), race 8 (1, 3, 4, 7 and 8).

Good luck and see you in the forum!
