meeting preview for sun oct 21, 2018

The Queen Elizabeth II Cup is historically one of the best days racing is Singapore but with the race now worth $1 million and given Group 1 status, its also one of the best races on the calendar.

Over 1800m at Weight-for-Age conditions, the QEII Cup is also the last chance for the stars to win over a decent trip before the handicapper makes it all too tough in the Gold Cup with the likes of DEBT COLLECTOR, CIRCUIT LAND and JUPITER GOLD right in the mix.

DEBT COLLECTOR heads the ratings courtesy of a one point hike after his thrilling win in the Raffles Cup and we can expect much the same here with Michael Rodd likely to settle him close to last before winding him up for one last crack with the Long Course (B) in his favour.

CIRCUIT LAND was stiff to get nosed out by DEBT COLLECTOR on that occasion and the well-travelled American-bred gelding will be hoping to reverse that result with Ruan Maia - his only winning jockey in Singapore - back in the saddle.

You can't discount the Emirates Singapore Derby winner, JUPITER GOLD, who has been a revelation since his trainer, Hideyuki Takaoka, freshened him up with some Poly sprints which seems to have got the 5YO's career back on track.

Elsewhere on the card, the Group 3 Garden City Trophy looks a tricky one for punters with two very progressive types in BE BEE and MISTER YEOH asked to carry more weight than some of their more highly rated competitors, including FAALTLESS, ARAMCO and SUPER WINNER.

Best Bets: (DEBT COLLECTOR race 9, win), (MR DUJARDIN race 4, value) and (SUPER WINNER race 7, value).

Bankers for Jackpots: Race 7 (2, 3, 4, 5 and 6), race 8 (2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 14), race 9 (1, 2 and 4) and race 10 (1 and 7).

Good luck and see you in the forum!
